Respectfully, Iain Crawford Historic Augusta will be sponsoring a FREE workshop for existing and future historic property owners and investors as well as realtors involved in the sale of historic properties. The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26th, beginning at 3:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the Bible Deliverance Temple located on the corner of Eve and Fenwick Streets in the Harrisburg District. The workshop will be divided into two sessions. The first session will provide an overview and should last approximately one hour. The second session will be more interactive and provide additional detail on each topic, including discussions on incentive application processes and rehabilitation requirements. Seating is limited. Speakers include Jennifer Lewis, Certified Local Government Coordinator for the UGA Center for Community Design and Preservation; Ms. Lewis will discuss local ordinances and preservation standards for rehabilitation. Ced Dolder, Tax Incentives Coordinator for the GA Department of Natural Resources, Historic Preservation Division; Ms. Dolder will review local, state and federal tax incentive programs for owners of properties in historic districts. Erick Montgomery, Executive Director for Historic Augusta. Mr. Montgomery will discuss the historic districts in Augusta and examples of the types of properties in Augusta that qualify for preservation programs. Others will be on hand to share specific case studies. Each participant will receive a workbook of information with forms and instructions for each of the different incentive programs. |
