The Harrisburg West-End Neighborhood Association has been working with
the city on the issue of "Unfit and Abandoned Housing".

We are happy to announce that seven (7) properties will go before the city
commission on February 5th, 2008. After that the city will bid the work out and
hopefully we will be rid of several of the eye sores in our neighborhood.

The city Code Enforcement Department has identified 24 properties that are unfit and
or abandoned. See list below.

including city services (nuisance abatement, crime and fire prevention), decreased property values and tax
revenues, as well as the costs born by homeowners and the issue of the spiral of blight.
